The Leadership Development Training was organized on September 19, 2017 at Ban Mae Surin camp and October 4, 2017 in Ban Mai Nai Soi camp, Mae Hong Son Province. The Intensive training were participated by representatives of camp committee, Karenni Women Association, Livelihood coordinator, and NGOs’ Coordinators. The training contents were as follows:

   What is leader?: Using a group sharing activity, participants listed qualifications of good leaders. Then they identified some examples of leaders in their community.After a small group discussion, participants described a number of leadership styles and then identified advantages and disadvantages of each style.

   Team Leadership: By solving a puzzle as a team, participants identified at least one strength or advantage of working on a diverse team that reflects various perspectives, ideas from members of different backgrounds.

   After a self-reflective activity, participants identified at least one quality of effective leadership and one team member role that they think they have or that they can develop.Using common group situations, participants will identify at least one strategy to leverage their strengths and inspire others to reach a common goal.

   Pre-test and post-test of the training have been made and it indicated the increasing score of post-test.Finally, trainees also placed their wish list for next training topic such as Report writing, Small business management, Planning, Financial management, Project management, Governance, In-depth leadership development and Livelihood skills like animal raising.

   The Intensive training in Ban Mae Surin on September 19th, was participated by 10 leader trainees: 6 male and 4 female. They found that the contents of the training was very useful for them. Good trainers made them comprehend the lessons that promoted the participatory method.

   The training at Ban Mai Nai Soi camp on October 4, has 13 trainees who wrote that they all think the training was either “Satisfied” or “Fair”. They also found the training useful and there should be training manual distribution. There should be more participants joining the leadership training. They also requested for the next training on In-depth leadership development, Planning, Livelihood training, e.g. animal raising and writing proposal, etc.
